Simona Gece

Specialist in anaesthesiology with the additional qualification of special pain therapy

As a child from a family of doctors, I had no chance of escaping medicine - I realised very early on that I would become a doctor.

After completing my medical studies, I decided to do specialist training in anaesthesiology, which I successfully completed in 2021.

During my work as an anaesthetist, I have assisted many patients with acute post-operative pain.
The immediate phase after an operation is often characterised by intense pain and I had the opportunity to experience at first hand how distressing pain can be for patients - not only physically, but also emotionally.

I was impressed to see how patient-adapted and individualised pain therapy can help people regain their quality of life. These experiences have awakened in me the desire to delve deeper into pain therapy: the direct contact with patients and the opportunity to help them on their way to less pain and more enjoyment of life are particularly fulfilling for me.

My curiosity and my conviction about the possibilities of pain medicine today drive me to further develop my expertise every day. Patients with chronic pain often feel misunderstood and are frequently plagued by doubts - both from the outside and from themselves. It is important to me to reach more people and show them that there are ways that can lead to an improvement in their well-being.
I have been delighted to be part of the Schmerzwerkstatt München team since September 2024.

This process makes a significant contribution to best possible Quality of care for you.

This task also involves a considerable amount of work for our team, be it in the form filling, analysing or storing the questionnaires.
