Specialist in neurosurgery with the additional qualification of specialised pain therapy

I have been treating people with pain for over 25 years now. After studying medicine in Munich and Melbourne, my doctoral thesis focussed on specific forms of pain. During my specialist training at the Großhadern Clinic and my later work as a senior consultant in neurosurgery in Regensburg, the subject of back pain increasingly became the focus of my interest. Today, I am one of the few specialists in Germany to hold both the specialist qualification in neurosurgery and the additional qualification in specialised pain therapy.

Specialist in anaesthesiology with the additional qualification of special pain therapy

As a child from a family of doctors, I had no chance of escaping medicine - I realised very early on that I would become a doctor.

After completing my medical studies, I decided to train as a specialist in anaesthesiology, which I successfully completed in 2021.

My path into medicine began during my civilian service as a paramedic and later as a paramedic.
paramedic. These formative experiences in the rescue service - from emergency rescue to
from intensive care transport to air rescue - have had a lasting influence on my interest in medicine and have
motivated me to study human medicine.

After completing my studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, I started my medical
career in internal medicine. Soon afterwards, I switched to anaesthesiology and completed my
Specialist training at the Neuperlach, Harlaching and Bogenhausen sites of the Munich Clinic,
including five years of work in intensive care medicine

For you and us, this means that we must work together to ensure that all of our patients receive the German pain questionnaire and later only Fill in progress questionnaires.

We are aware that the German Pain Questionnaire is very detailed and therefore long, which can take up a lot of time and could be perceived as annoying.

Please note that this is a is a legal obligation, which we must fulfil.

This process makes a significant contribution to best possible Quality of care for you.

This task also involves a considerable amount of work for our team, be it in the form filling, analysing or storing the questionnaires.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and assistance.

Together we can optimise your treatment.

Yours sincerely,
Your team at the Schmerzwerkstatt Munich
